SpeechXRays workforce use case – Kick-off event
Tuesday July 24, 2018, at the National Physics Library in Măgurele will take place the SpeechXRays workforce use case kick-off event entitled Romanian Voice and Face Recognition. The event is part of the research project SpeechXRays. Multi-channel biometrics combining acoustic and machine vision analysis of speech, lip movement and face which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 653586. The consortium of the SpeechXRays project is headed by IDEMIA France and consists of SIVECO (Romania), Tech Inspire (United Kingdom), Realeyes (Estonia), Forthnet (Greece), IFIN-HH (Romania), FORTH (Greece), University College London (United Kingdom), Institut Mines-Télécom (France), and VoiceTrust (Germany).
The SpeechXRays project will develop and test in real-life environments a user recognition platform based on voice acoustics analysis and audio-visual identity verification. SpeechXRays will outperform state-of-the-art solutions in the areas of security, privacy, usability, and cost-efficiency. The project combines and pilots two proven techniques: acoustic driven voice recognition and multi-channel biometrics incorporating dynamic face recognition. The goal of the SpeechXRays project is to provide a solution combining the convenience and cost-effectiveness of voice biometrics, achieving better accuracies by combining it with video, and bringing superior anti-spoofing capabilities. The technology will be deployed in three large institutions, IFIN-HH (Romania), FORTH (Greece) and Forthnet (Greece), that will validate it through three use cases.
The SpeechXRays workforce use case kick-off event marks the testing of the SpeechXRays biometrics authentication platform within IFIN-HH through a series of presentations dedicated to the project at large, the face- and voice-based biometrics solutions, the legal framework of personal data processing and the testing process. The event will include a live demo of the biometrics authentication platform and a round table discussion on security in the digital world. The event is organized by IFIN-HH and Magurele High Tech Cluster, jointly with IDEMIA France, the coordinator of the SpeechXRays project, and SIVECO Romania, the integrator of the SpeechXRays biometrics authentication platform. At the end of the event the participants will have the opportunity to test the SpeechXRays biometrics authentication platform.
