Reminder EUSDR Forum in Bucharest

As a key event of the 2019 EUSDR Presidency, Romania is hosting on the 26 – 28 June 2019 the 8th Annual Forum (Bucharest, Palace of Parliament). The event will be held under the motto: “Building cohesion for a shared prosperity in the Danube Region”, being jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, the Romanian Presidency of the Council of EU, the DG Regio/European Commission and the Danube Transnational Program, with technical support from the Danube Strategy Point.

The 8th Annual Forum agenda will cover topics of particular importance for the Danube region, ranging from competitiveness, connectivity and regional mobility to economic convergence and cohesion-building for ensuring better synergies between the ESIF programs and macro-regional strategies in the post 2020 framework.

Best practices of implementation of INTERREG projects will also feature on the agenda, along with discussions over the Revision of the EUSDR Action Plan and future opportunities of cooperation among key EUSDR stakeholders. The event will allow participants to take stock of EUSDR progress; we believe that your professional experience and expertise could contribute to fruitful discussions.

The Forum will be preceded by an Informal Ministerial
meeting< will take place in the morning of the 27th of June, where Ministers responsible for Economic Affairs and Business Environment of the
participating countries will share views and provide strategic guidance for enhancing economic cooperation in the Danube region.

On 26-28 of June 2018, interested participants are also invited to attend 10 dedicated side-events. The 2019 Annual Forum will feature an Exhibition for promoting best practices of cooperation in the Danube Region (organized by the Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship of Romania) and Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions<>, organized by ARIES in partnership with the Enterprise Europe Network. Through these events, the organizers aim to bring together businesses, chambers of commerce, research institutes and other organisations from the region with a view to assessing new business opportunities and building, whenever possible, relevant partnerships.

At the same time, relevant stakeholders will be able to get more involved in shaping the Strategy’s future by sharing feedback for the final stage of EUSDR’s Action Plan Revision within the Public hearings< will be organized by the Romanian Presidency of EUSDR and the Danube Strategy Point.
